"Rough Rider" Bush

I've been thinking about the state of affairs in Iraq of late and began reflecting on how earlier presidents handled their wars against small, third-world countries and realized that maybe President Bush should take a page from history as a possible solution to the situation in Iraq. Maybe he can take a page from the first "bully pulpit" president TR and assemble his own regiment of "Rough Riders" to go to Iraq and end the WoT by bringing "it" to the terrorists.

Let's take some time and try to envision this sort of endeavor...(begin dream sequence distortion...)

Baghdad -- President Bush today resigned his office and vowed to "bring it to the terrorists" himself. The former president has set upon the task of putting together his own cavalry regiment to take on the terrorists of Iraq. Similar to its turn of the twentieth-century predecessor this "Rough Rider" type regiment will be composed of former Ivy League college students and athletes, CEOs, Texas cowboys, border-patroling Minutemen, and evangelical christians. Members of the "Bush Riders" as the regiment has been nicknamed, will all be ardent supporters of the current incursion in Iraq who until joining had confined their involvement in the conflict to purchasing "Support the Troops" car magnets, trolling anti-war blogs, wearing purple band-aids, and attacking Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore. Said one member of his joining the regiment, "They won't be able to call us the 101st Fighting Keyboardists any more."

...end dream sequence
